Welcome back to Monday Wisdom. How was your weekend? We just finished up our time in Atlanta, Georgia and we will be traveling home this Halloween. With no shortage of candy for the trip.


Let’s continue our series on choosing a healthy healing lifestyle.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health. In fact, up to 80% of strokes and premature heart disease can be prevented through your life choices and habits, such as eating a healthy diet and being physically active.


Today’s Blog is all about Purging all that Halloween Candy (LOL).

  1. Get rid of the leftovers ASAP. The best way to get back on track is to start NOW!
  2. Increase your fiber. After you’ve eaten a lot of sugar, your body releases insulin to control your blood sugar levels AND the insulin tells your body to convert the glucose in your blood into fat if it’s not needed for energy.

When you add fiber, you slow or stop this reaction. This means your blood sugars don’t spike as much, your body doesn’t release as much insulin, and you give your body a chance to burn up the excess energy before it’s stored as fat.

  1. Alkalize Your Body

The ‘antidote’ is to ‘alkaline you’ – Eat a diet high in foods that have an alkalizing effect on the body. OPTIONS- ALL fresh fruits & vegetables – and especially veggies like celery, cucumber, beets and parsley. Eat abundant quantities of these in some fresh salads today or in the form of a real vegetable juice.

4. Eat Wholly

After eating a lot of sugar our bodies need to be nourished with Whole Foods. This will help settle our internal systems down and feed our bodies the real food that it needs.

Most of all… have fun and enjoy some treats with your family. You now are armed with what you need to detox on November 1.
