Let’s continue our series on choosing a healthy healing lifestyle.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health. In fact, up to 80% of strokes and premature heart disease can be prevented through your life choices and habits, such as eating a healthy diet and being physically active.

Today’s Blog is about adding fish to your diet.🐡

Fish is a great source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals.

Fish  contains vitamins A and D and the B vitamins. Plus minerals including calcium, iodine, zinc, iron and selenium. These are nutrients that many of us don’t eat enough of. TRUTH

 

Aim to eat at least 2 portions of fish a week. Make at least 1 portion oily fish.

 

Oily fish are high in omega-3 fats, which may help prevent heart disease

 

Oily fish include:

salmon

trout

herring

sardines

pilchards

mackerel

 

Non Oily  fish include”

haddock

plaice

coley

cod

tuna

skate

 

Fresh or frozen is best. Canned can be high in salt. If you use canned rinse well and eat in small portions.
