Let’s continue our series on choosing a healthy healing lifestyle.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health. In fact, up to 80% of strokes and premature heart disease can be prevented through your life choices and habits, such as eating a healthy diet and being physically active.
Protein is found throughout your body. Found inn muscle, bone, skin, hair, and virtually all body parts or tissue. Protein makes up the enzymes that power many chemical reactions along with your hemoglobin which carries the oxygen in your blood. Did you know that at least 10,000 different proteins make you what you are and keep you that way. Is Protein important in your diet??? Absolutely!
Protein Better & Best Sources.
Upgrade your sources of animal protein.
- Poultry (chicken, turkey, duck) and a variety of seafood (fish, crustaceans, mollusks) are your best bet.
- Eggs can be a good alternative choice.
As a general rule – Protein UP ¼ of your plate.
Fish, poultry, beans, and nuts are all healthy. They can be mixed into salads or with vegetables on a plate.
REMEMBER.. Limit red meat, and avoid processed meats such as bacon and sausage.
